Some dads are impossible to buy for. He doesn't want more socks, he's got enough gadgets, and if he needed a tool he's already bought it. So you grab something at the last minute and it ends up in a drawer.
Here's the fix: a Father's Day gift made of steel, with his name or his thing on it, that he'll actually keep. A few ideas that suit the outdoors, farm and shed sort of dad — the kind we make for all the time.
For the hunter or fisho
Red stag, tahr, a trout, a set of antlers — cut from steel for the wall of the shed, the office or the man cave. If he's got a trophy story he never shuts up about, we can work his animal, a name or a date into the piece so it's actually his.
For the farm or lifestyle block
A custom sign for the gate with the property name on it. A set of house numbers couriers can actually read from the road. Or a bit of garden art — a pukeko, a fern, whatever suits the place. Practical and personal, which is what most farm dads quietly like best.
For the shed or bar
A name sign for his shed or bar. His favourite place cut into steel — "Lake Pukaki", the bach, the boat's name. Even a hose or lead holder by the door. Small, useful, and more him than another bottle of something.
Order in time
One catch: it's all custom, so it's not next-day. Manufacture is usually around 15 to 20 working days once the design's approved. To have it in hand for Father's Day (Sunday 6 September), get your order in by early August. We'll send a mock-up to check before anything's cut.
